No Nepali political appointments before interim gov't: officialThe Nepali seven-party alliance government and The Communist Party of Nepal (CPN) (formerly known as guerrilla) have agreed on not making any appointments until the formation of the interim government, Nepali Deputy Prime Minister Amik Serchan said Saturday. Talking to Kantipur Television, Serchan said the two sides agreed that the interim government, which includes the CPN, would make decisions on any issue of national interest. Serchan's statement came after the CPN had withdrawn its claimed nationwide general strike on Dec. 30 and Jan. 1 to protest the government's Dec. 18 nomination of ambassadors. Serchan said the government had reached understanding with the CPN to decide all issues, including the appointment of ambassadors, after the formation of the interim government. Source: Xinhua |
