The U.S. dollar hovered at the upper 118 yen level Monday in Tokyo.

At 5 p.m., the dollar was quoted at 118.83-85 yen, compared with Friday's 5 p.m. quotes of 118.80-90 yen in New York and 118.36-39 yen in Tokyo.

It traded between 118.74 yen and 118.94 yen during the day, most frequently at 118.86 yen and reaching its highest level in Tokyo since Oct. 26 when it logged 119.04 yen.

The euro was quoted at 1.3135-3138 dollar and 156.10-14 yen, against Friday's 5 p.m. quotes of 1.3124-3134 dollar and 155.95- 156.05 yen in New York and 1.3202-3205 dollar and 156.29-33 yen in Tokyo.
