Chinese State Councilor Tang Jiaxuan met Monday in Beijing with Ukrainian advisor to president Zinchenko Oleksandr and his party.

Tang said China had attached importance to the relations with Ukraine and supported its choice for development road and policy in accordance with its own conditions, as well as its effort to safeguard independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of the country.

He expressed hope that China and Ukraine would promote political trust and cooperation to upgrade the bilateral relations.

Zinchenko Oleksandr said Ukraine had taken the relations with China as one of its priority in its foreign policy and would better the relationship.

He said Ukraine adheres to one-China policy.
