New Year greeting from Canadian Ambassador

On behalf of the Government and the people of Canada, I would like to wish all of our Chinese friends a happy and prosperous New Year. I would also like to take this opportunity to wish People's Daily Online a happy 10th Anniversary.

Canada and China enjoy a dynamic and comprehensive relationship, one that is unique and vital, and on which Canada wants to build, further strengthening ties to the mutual benefit of people from both countries. Our two nations have a lot to share and exchange in sectors such as agriculture, energy, transportation, public policy & governance, academic research, culture and sports. As China and Canada will successively and respectively host the Summer Olympic Games in 2008 in Beijing and the Winter Olympics Games in 2010 in Vancouver/Whistler, this provides a great opportunity for both nations to collaborate and exchange best practices.
