China has signed 106 bilateral agreements on aviation transportation by the end of 2006, 13 of which were initial agreements, according to latest statistics released by the General Administration of Civil Aviation of China (CAAC).

China has sealed agreements with Afghanistan, Algeria and Burma, and signed initial agreements or expended aviation exports with 22 other countries, the administration said.

By the end of 2006, 15 Chinese airline companies were offering flights to 88 cities in 43 countries, providing passengers with 1,307 regular round-trip flights a week. There are also 204 regular round-trip cargo flights every week.

Meanwhile, 93 overseas airline companies operated flights to 31 Chinese mainland cities, providing passengers with 262 regular round-trip flights and 307 regular round-trip cargo transport flights every week at the end of 2006.

Yang Yuanyuan, director of the CAAC said that China will continue to open the country's international aviation sector.
