German court starts insolvency proceedings against BenQ MobileA German court opened in Munich on Tuesday insolvency proceedings against BenQ Mobile, the German mobile phone arm of Taiwan's electronics maker BenQ, the German news agency DPA reported. The proceedings started one day after insolvency administrator Martin Prager declared that efforts to sell the German plants of BenQ failed, said the agency. It was still possible that an investor could take over part of the unit even with the proceedings underway, a spokeswoman for the court said. BenQ, which ceased investment last year in its German operation, filed for insolvency at the end of September after sluggish sales of its mobile phones. Source: Xinhua |
