South Korea's second-largest automaker GM Daewoo Auto & Technology Co. recalls 46,147 of its 2006 model Winstorm sport utility vehicles (SUV) over a brake defect, the South Korean government said on Thursday.
According to the Ministry of Construction and Transportation, the recall applies to 13,893 vehicles sold in South Korea and 32, 254 exported vehicles built between April 11 and Dec. 14 last year, as a defect of the brake pedal may cause the braking system to malfunction.
GM Daewoo is exporting the Winstorm SUVs under the brand name of Captiva.
