PICC Property and Casualty (PICC P &C) Co.Ltd., a big name in the Chinese insurance industry and official partner of the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games, announced Thursday that 2,550 of its customers had won tickets to Olympic Games events.

The 'lucky dogs' were drawn out of the hat in an activity sponsored by PICC P&C called "Buy insurance, see an Olympic event live."

According to PICC P&C, the 2,550 lucky dogs received 1,500 tickets for individual competitions, 1,000 tickets for top-attraction individual competitions and another 50 tickets for the closing ceremony.

The winners were selected at random from those who bought P&C insurance in July 2006.

PICC will hand out another 10,000 tickets to lucky customers in four more draws prior to the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games including 100 tickets for the opening ceremony.

As an official partner of the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games, PICC P&C has priority access to 13,000 Olympic tickets.

Prices for Olympics sports events will range between 30 and 1,000 yuan.

Economy tickets for the opening ceremony will be priced at 200 yuan (about 26 dollars), with the highest going for 5,000 yuan (about 650 dollars). The cheapest closing ceremony tickets will be sold for 150 yuan (about 20 dollars), and the most expensive will be priced at 3,000 yuan (about 400 dollars).
