Exhibition held to mark 15th anniversary of Sino-Israeli diplomatic relationsAn exhibition of traditional Chinese paper cuts and photos was held Givatayim, Israel Thursday evening to mark the 15th anniversary of the establishment of Sino- Israeli diplomatic relations. The exhibition, consisted of some 30 pieces of delicate paper cuts as well as photos, handcrafts and traditional Chinese food, brought forth China's unique folk art and inspiration to Israeli people. Chen Yonglong, Chinese ambassador to Israel, said that since China and Israel established diplomatic relations in 1992, bilateral trade and economic cooperation has enjoyed surprisingly high growth rate. "Let's join our hands to push forward our friendly relations to a new height," said the Chinese ambassador, extending best wishes to the Israeli people. Addressing the opening ceremony of the exhibition, Abraham, Mayor of Givatayim, expressed her admiration of the achievement China has made in its economic development and her appreciation of the traditional Chinese culture. The exhibition was held ahead of Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert's official visit to China from Jan. 9 to 11, during which the two sides will hold in-depth discussions on the Middle East issue, according to Chinese Foreign Ministry.
