China on Monday sent a plane carrying 1,700 tents for the people of Philippines who lost their homes in a series of typhoons last year. It's the fourth aid supply from China to help combat the disaster.

The drag parachute of a J-10 fighter plane opens during a flight traing, Jan 7, 2006. An air force division of Chengdu Military Area Command conducted its first flight training in 2007 with newly equipped J-10 fighter planes, independently designed by China. The fighter is capable of launching "precision attacks while hedgehopping and making long-distance assaults at altitude above 10,000 meters."
