He Luli, vice chairwoman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC), China's top legislature, met here on Tuesday with Segolene Royal, head of the French Socialist Party and presidential candidate.

The two sides exchanged views on China-France relations, parliamentary exchanges and cooperation between the two countries and other issues of common concern, according to the International Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC).

Royal, who is seeking to become France's first-ever woman president, started her four-day China visit on Saturday.

She met with Chinese Vice President Zeng Qinghong on Monday and met with Chinese State Councilor Tang Jiaxuan and held talks with Head of the International Department of CPC Central Committee Wang Jiarui on Sunday.
