China hopes the Democratic People's Republic Korea(DPRK) and the United States would reach consensus on the financial issue at an early date to remove the obstacle in the six-party talks process, said Liu Jianchao, spokesman of the Chinese Foreign Ministry.
He called upon the relevant sides to find out common interest and acceptable solutions on the Korean nuclear issue so as to make the early resumption of the six-party talks.
Liu said the six-party talks is a "practical" and "effective" way to solve the Korean nuclear issue and a platform of exchanges on which to build a harmonious northeast Asia.
Liu hoped that all sides would face the reality, maintain patience, and use their wisdom and sincerity to get the early settlement of the Korean nuclear issue.
Six-party talks, focusing on the the Korean nuclear issue, involves China, the DPRK, the United States, the Republic of Korea, Japan and Russia. The second phase of the fifth round of talks was concluded last December in Beijing.
