Former Beijing railway director expelled from political advisory body

ormer director of the Beijing Railway Bureau, Li Shutian, who has been arrested by police over bribery charges, was expelled from the Beijing municipal committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) on Thursday.

The standing committee of the CPPCC Beijing municipal committee met on Thursday and decided to expel Li.

The CPPCC Shanghai municipal committee announced Wednesday that two members, Li Songjian and Tang Haigen, have been struck from the political advisory body after criminal investigations were launched against them.
