font size

A former judge of Hong Kong High Court and his wife were found guilty of welfare fraud in Hong Kong Friday.

Miles Jackson-Lipkin, 82, and his wife were charged with disguising personal assets and cheated some 100,000 HK dollars ( about 12,800 U.S. dollars) of social security assistance and medical allowances from the government between 2003 and 2004.

During that time, they also applied a public housing flat by providing the government with counterfeit documents.

The couple were found guilty while sentencing has been adjourned until Jan. 26. They have been detained in custody as ordered by the court.
