Nine South Koreans taken hostage from an oil services base in southern Nigeria were released on Friday, according to reports reaching Lagos.

The government spokesman of the southern Bayelsa state was quoted as saying that the nine Koreans and one Nigerian abducted on Wednesday by gunmen were released unharmed.
