An American and two afghans were injured when a suicide bomber attacked a foreigner's vehicle in the south of Kabul, the capital of Afghanistan Friday, a police official said.
"A suicide attacker rammed his explosive-laden car into the foreigner's vehicle on the highway between Kabul and Logor province in Charsiab district, wounding an American contractor and his two Afghan employees," Deputy Chief of Kabul Police AliShah Paktiawal said Friday.
Xinhua reporters saw the damaged vehicle was on fire and police had cordoned off the area.
This is the first suicide attack occurred this year and the second in one month in the capital city of Afghanistan. Eight people were wounded when a suicide attacker targeted an Afghan lawmaker on Dec. 22.
Due to rising Taliban-linked insurgence this year, Afghanistan has plunged into the worst spate of violence since 2001. More than 4,000 people, mostly Taliban rebels, have been killed in this Central Asian country in the past one year.
