Nepali Home Minister Krishna Prasad Sitaula has said that the arms of the Communist Party of Nepal (CPN) (formerly known as guerrilla) will be locked up in containers by Jan. 29, a leading newspaper, The Himalayan Times, reported on Saturday.
Sitaula was quoted by the daily as saying that the government is all set to bring containers to lock up arms by mid-January.
Stating that the United Nations monitoring team is registering the CPN's arms, he said the task will be completed soon.
"The CPN will join the interim government only after the lock up of arms," he said.
Sitaula added that the CPN will not come to the interim government until the process of arms management is completed.
The task of forming the interim government consisting of the CPN will begin from Jan. 29, he said, adding that the interim constitution will be promulgated on Jan. 15 and the interim parliament will ratify it.
"Most likely, the interim constitution will be ratified by the interim parliament on Jan. 15 or the next day," Sitaula added.
