China's export of mechanic, electronic products grows nearly 30%

In 2006, China exported mechanic and electronic products worth 549.44 billion US dollars, up 28.8 percent over the previous year, according to latest customs statistics.

The country imported primary products worth 187.14 billion dollars, industrial finished products worth 604.47 billion dollars, up 26.7 percent and 18 percent respectively. This included 229,000 automobiles, up 40.7 percent and 18.51 million tons of steel, down 28.3 percent.
