font size

The Communist Party of Nepal (CPN) (formerly known as guerrilla) appointed 10 more members of Interim Parliament, The Kathmandu Post newspaper reported on Sunday.

Besides its 73 representatives in the interim parliament, CPN has sent 10 to the interim legislature in order to maintain a balance between professional, regional and social representation.

CPN on Saturday said that these nominated by the party from the civil society quota for the interim legislature would not be compelled to follow the party's directives or whip.

The name list includes Ex-Major General of Nepali Army Kumar Phudung. Phudung served in the NA for 35 years after joining the military as a second lieutenant and retired in July 2002.

On Thursday, CPN announced the names of 73 persons who would represent the party in the interim legislature.
