Macao's tourism consumer price index in the last quarter of 2006 rose 3.94 percent over the previous season, standing at 122.24, according to official statistics issued on Monday.

The government-run Statistics and Census Service (SCS) attributed the increase of the index mainly to the price hike in sectors including hotel room charges and winter clothing.

Prices of transport and communication witnessed a slide-down in the quarter.
