Donald Tsang, chief executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR), will lead a delegation of government officials and local business leaders on a study tour to east China's Jiangxi Province on Friday.
The tour is aimed at promoting economic and trade co-operation between Hong Kong and the Pan-Pearl River Delta (Pan-PRD) region, said a statement from the HKSAR government.
During the visit to Jiangxi, Tsang will attend the "Hong Kong-Jiangxi Business Co-operation Symposium" and the Jiangxi Tourism Seminar. He will also visit local enterprises and infrastructure facilities.
HKSAR government officials accompanying Tsang will include the Secretary for Commerce, Industry and Technology Joseph Wong and the Permanent Secretary for Constitutional Affairs Cherry Tse.
Tsang will return to Hong Kong on Jan. 21. During the Chief Executive's absence, the Chief Secretary for Administration, Rafael Hui, will be the Acting Chief Executive.
