font size

Six people were killed and 15 others injured when a bomb detonated inside a mini-van in central Baghdad on Sunday, a well-informed police source told Xinhua.

"The mini-van was carrying passengers from Bab al-Sharji area to Karradah neighborhood when the bomb went off, killing six passengers and wounding 15 others," the source said on condition of anonymity.

The blast damaged nearby shops and buildings close to Kahramanah Square, he added.

Earlier, a civilian was killed and five others were wounded when a car bomb parking near the Beirut Square in Palestine Street detonated near a passing police patrol.
