Gu Xiulian, vice chairwoman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, met with Antonio Leal Labrin, president of the House of Representatives of Chile, on Monday.

Labrin, who was elected president of the Chilean house for a one-year term in March last year, said Chile's government attached great importance to relations with China, and hoped to strengthen communications in the cultural, educational and economic fields in order to increase mutual understanding.
