Most proposals from Chinese political advisory body answered in a yearAlmost all of the 5,158 proposals raised during the annual session of China's advisory body in March last year have been accepted and studied by the government and Party departments, a statement from the advisory body said on Wednesday. The advisory body had intensified the checks on the government's responses to these proposals, pressing officials to pay attention to the problems raised by advisors, said Song Baorui, a senior member of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC). He said more than 45 percent of the proposals concerned economic issues and 25 percent were about social security and the rule of law. The CPPCC National Committee session will form a special panel for accepting, examining and handling proposals. After examination, the proposals will be sorted by category. They will then be transferred to the appropriate government departments, which will be held responsible for answering complaints, resolving problems and adopting good suggestions. The top political advisory body will hold this year's annual meeting, or its fifth session, on March 3. This year's annual "two sessions" of the Nation People's Congress (NPC) and the CPPCC will focus on mobilizing the nation to build a harmonious society. Source: Xinhua |
