Jiang Zhenghua, vice chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC), China's top legislature, met in BeijingThursday with Paul Slamet Somohardjo, speaker of the National Assembly of Surinam.

Somohardjo and his party are visiting China at the invitation of Wu Bangguo, chairman of the NPC Standing Committee from Jan. 25 to 30.
