The Ministry of Agriculture will implement ��10 Actions�� to develop modern agriculture in 2007, as it endeavors to produce at least the same amount of food as last year and increase the per capita net income of farmers by more than 5 percent, said Xue Liang, spokesman and chief economist of the Ministry of Agriculture.
The ��10 Actions�� are: enhancing the production ability of the commissariat; encouraging a healthy breeding industry; promoting the planting of economically effective crops and the gardening industry; enhancing the safety and quality of farming products; hastening the application of innovative agriculture-related science and technology and the training of farmers to use it; improving the level of agricultural industrialization and systematization; promoting circulation agriculture; improving equipment used in modern agriculture; preventing and controlling serious animal diseases such as H5N1; and developing new socialist villages.
