Pakistani Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz said here on Friday that his country is "delighted" to see China, its close neighbor, become a major economic power in the world.
China is getting more and more active on the international economic stage, and it is becoming "increasingly attractive," Aziz told a press conference on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum annual meeting.
Pakistan is "more than comfortable" to see China's economic rising, including its accumulation of foreign reserves, he said. " That's a source of strength of the whole world."
"We always celebrate successes of our friends, and a success of our friends is our success, so we are very delighted," Aziz said.
He added that China's rising "is good for the world because it can create new centers of power which can provide a good balance to the world."
On bilateral relations between Pakistan and China, Aziz said interaction between the two countries "is continuous and very intense."
"We had several of your leaders visit us and visiting in a few months, and we have ministerial level exchanges almost happening continuously on some subjects of each other," he said.
"Overall it is a strong relationship and getting stronger," he said.
According to the prime minister, economic and trade cooperation between the two countries is growing rapidly.
"We are privileged that we are one of the first countries to sign a FTA (free-trade agreement) with China," he said, adding that the FTA will be a cornerstone in future economic relations between the two countries.
