Vanuatu's Prime Minister Ham Lini presided Friday over the opening ceremony of an agricultural college built with Chinese aid.

Speaking at the inaugural ceremony, Lini expressed appreciation to China for building the agricultural college in the country.

Chinese Ambassador to Vanuatu Bao Shusheng described the college as a new example for the development of bilateral friendship, adding that China is willing to conduct cooperation with Vanuatu in agriculture and fishery.

Santo Agricultural Institute, funded by the Chinese government and built by China National Overseas Engineering Corporation, was completed in March 2005 after a 15-month construction. It was put into operation on Friday.
