Lin Shusen, formor deputy governor of southwest China's Guizhou Province, was elected governor of the province by the provincial legislature on Saturday.
Lin was elected to the post at the fifth session of the 10th Guizhou Provincial People's Congress.
Lin, 60, graduated from Guangdong College of Technology with a major in Civil Engineering.
A native of the Shantou City in south China's Guangdong Province, Lin started his career as a technician in a local fiber factory. He had served as mayor of Guangzhou, capital of Guangdong, vice secretary of the Guizhou Provincial Committee of Communist Party of China, and acting governor of Guizhou.
