South Korea's Samsung Electronics Co. remained in the top place in sales of liquid crystal display (LCD) panels worldwide in 2006, keeping the top status for a fifth consecutive year, a report by DisplaySearch said Monday.
According to the report, Samsung Electronics sold 14.85 billion U.S. dollars worth of LCD panels last year, up 22 percent from 2005.
LG. Philips LCD Co. was the second largest LCD provider in the world, which sold 11.19 billion U.S. dollars worth of products last year. The third LCD provider is Taiwan's AUO with sales of 9. 15 billion U.S. dollars.
