Indonesia cuts fuel prices in February

Indonesia's state-run oil firm Pertamina has cut prices of unsubsidized fuel products for February in line with the declining global oil prices.

Prices of high octane gasoline Pertamax and Pertamax Plus were cut by 100 rupiah to 4,750 rupiah (52 US cents) and 4,900 rupiah ( 54 cents) per liter, respectively, the company said in a statement Thursday.

The price of high quality diesel fuel Pertamina Dex was reduced by 50 rupiah to 5,550 rupiah (61 cents) per liter.

The company also cut prices of fuel products for industrial uses by a range of 1.8 percent to 4.4 percent.

Gasoline price for this category was lowered by 3 percent to 4, 080 rupiah (45 cents) per liter, kerosene price was down 4.4 percent to 4,813 rupiah (53 cents), diesel oil price for industry was slashed 1.8 percent to 4,450 rupiah (49 cents) and diesel fuel price was cut 3.8 percent to 4,273 rupiah (47 cents).

Meanwhile, prices of subsidized fuel products set by a presidential decree remain unchanged.
