    Locally made Jian-8 has accurate offensive ability

    The Jian-8 formation takes off. The Jian-8 is a type of fighter plane, and its development reflects a transition in China's high-powered battle aviation equipment from introduced and "copied" planes to locally-designed and locally-produced planes.The Jian-8 series fighter plane is for use by the Chinese Air Force and Chinese Navy. The Jian-8 has also helped China's aviation industry train two generations of air mechanics. It verifies China's ability to develop aviation technology despite very difficult conditions.

    Electronic map unveiled in Beijing

    A new type of screen showing electronic map was recently installed on the streets of Beijing. The electronic map displays the colors red, yellow and green, reflecting the different road conditions in different directions: road congestion, heavy traffic and unblocked road.

    Snow falls "Spring City"

    Chemical leak victims grows to 101, one dead

    A man poisoned in a chemical leak in Xiaogan, central China's Hubei Province receives treatment at a local hospital on February 1, 2007. The number of victims poisoned by a chemical leak in central China's Hubei Province has increased to 101 with one fatality and two in severe condition, Xinhua news agency reported.

    Unicom subscribers do not have to pay for incoming calls

    Twin suicide bombings kill 57, wound 150 in Iraq

    Chinese, Liberian leaders agree to further cooperation
