Zhou Guofu was elected as chairman of the provincial committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference at the fifth plenary session of the Ninth Zhejiang CPPCC Provincial Committee on Thursday.

Zhou, a native of Zhejiang Province, was born in 1945. He became a member of the Communist Party of China (CPC) in 1972.

He served as deputy secretary of the Zhejiang CPC provincial committee and secretary of the Zhejiang CPC provincial committee for discipline inspection.
