Extending Wednesday's gains, Wall Street traded higher on Thursday while the Dow Jones industrial index set another reached on blue-chip stocks' strong profits.
The Dow Jones industrial average gained 51.99, or 0.41 percent, to 12,673.68, more than 50 points above the former record of 12, 621.77 on Jan. 24.
The Standard & Poor's 500 index rose 7.70, or 0.54 percent, to 1,445.94, and the Nasdaq composite index was up 4.45, or 0.18 percent, at 2,468.38.
The oil giant Exxon Mobil Corp. rose 1.4 percent as crude oil prices turned higher and after the company posted a drop in earnings but still managed to beat expectations.
Boeing's shares reached a record high of 92.24 dollars before finishing up 1.49 U.S. dollars at 91.05 dollars as the aerospace company reported strong results.
