EU membership did not cause exodus of IT specialists from Poland: reportPoland's entry into the European Union (EU) in 2004 did not result in a mass emigration of Polish computer specialists to other EU members or the United States, the Polish news agency PAP reported on Thursday. The report said the finding was shared by over 200 managers and analysts from 50 Polish and international IT companies attending a conference in Warsaw. Polish IT specialists earn over 10 percent less than their counterparts in countries of the old EU, but the cost of living is much lower in Poland, the report quoted Adam Goral, president of the multinational IT company Asseco Poland, as saying. According to computer sector managers, the report said, the drain of a certain number of specialists is "inevitable" but will not affect the condition of the whole sector if the influx of new staff is secured.
