Chinese shares open slightly higher on Feb. 2

Chinese shares opened slightly higher on Friday as the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index opened at 2,791.49 points, up by 6.06 points, or 0.22 percent.

The index, which tracks both yuan-denominated A shares and hard-currency B shares traded on the Shanghai Stock Exchange, closed at 2,785.43 points on Thursday.
