font size

Five Asian countries have topped a list of 45 countries studied for salary potential across the world, according to reports released by E-CA International, a renowned HR company.

India was the top county with workers' salaries up 7 percent, followed by Indonesia and China, the Philippines and Thailand. Singapore and Japan took out 12th and 17th place.

Outside of Asia, salaries in Slovenia increased the fastest in the world, up by 3.5 percent, whereas American workers' salaries increased by just 1.1 percent.

The report found that the high rate of salary increase in Asia contributed to the strong economic growth of the region, as did the lack of skilled of workers, which further stimulated salaries. Furthermore, the low inflation rate has increased people's purchasing power.
