Chinese shares open slightly higher on Feb.8

Chinese shares opened slightly higher on Thursday as the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index opened at 2,725.14 points, up by 8.96 points, or 0.33 percent.

The index, which tracks both the yuan-denominated A shares and hard-currency B shares traded on the Shanghai Stock Exchange, closed at 2,716.18 points on Wednesday.
