Three patrol soldiers were critically hurt when suspected insurgents detonated a bomb in Thailand's southern border province Narathiwatlate Friday night, Bangkok Post reported on it website Saturday.
The bomb, planted on a roadside in Narathiwat's Bacho district, went off when the three soldiers were riding their motorcycles passing the spot, the report said.
The latest attack came two days before Malaysian Prime Minister Abdullah Badawi was expected to visit Thailand to discuss solutions to the unrest in Thailand's Muslim-dominated southernmost provinces, including Narathiwat, Yala and Pattani bordering Malaysia, where over 1,900 people have died from daily violent attacks such as bombings, shootings and arsons in three years.
