Calmness returned on Saturday to the eastern town of Nyabibwe, after Thursday and Friday's clashes between government forces and suspected armed Rwandese Hutus, according to the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC)'s military authorities.

The military said that three hostages were rescued and they captured three assailants, who are being interrogated to establish their identity and that of those who escaped.
