Mexican President Felipe Calderon vowed on Saturday that there will be "no truce" in the anti-drug war after the killing of seven officials in the southern state of Guerrero.
Speaking at a military base, Calderon said his government would "give no truce or quarter to the enemies of Mexico" in the face of the attacks from drug gangs, according to local media.
He urged troops to go on fighting "until victory" and achieve "new glory."
Gunmen dressed as soldiers on Tuesday attacked two police stations in the Pacific coast port of Acapulcoin, one of Guerrero's main towns. Five police officers and two secretaries were killed in the assaults.
The federal government said drug traffickers killed the law enforcement officials in revenge for the joint police-military operations against them, which were launched in December just days after Calderon took office as president.
