Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Jiang Yu said on Tuesday that all countries should make efforts for a harmonious world.

"As the international situation is filled with opportunities and challenges, all countries should make efforts to create a harmonious world featuring lasting peace and common prosperity," Jiang told a regular press conference on Tuesday.

Her remarks came when asked to comment on Russian President Vladimir Putin's recent speech concerning the United States.

Putin told a Munich security conference on Saturday that the United States "almost uncontained" use of force has led other countries developing weapons of mass destruction, including nuclear weapons.

"All countries should step up cooperation, seize opportunities and cope with challenges," Jiang said.
