Six submarine cable systems damaged by the earthquake off Taiwan on Dec. 26 have been repaired, the Office of the Telecommunications Authority of Hong Kong said Wednesday.
The cable operators said all external telecom services, including Internet access, have been fully restored.
The Taiwan earthquake caused damages on about 300 km seabed, breaking six undersea cables from Hong Kong to Europe and North America that threatened the telecommunications network to paralyze.
