China, Mexico commemorate 35th anniversary of diplomatic tiesChinese and Mexican envoys and officials got together on Wednesday, hailing the long-standing and well-established relationship between the two countries over the past 35 years. Since diplomatic ties were forged 35 years ago, the traditional friendship between the two countries have become more and more fruitful, said Li Xiaolin, vice president of the Chinese People's Association For Friendship with Foreign Countries. Politically, bilateral high-level visits have become frequent; and economically, China and Mexico are important trade partners, Li said. Official figures show that trade volume between the two countries increased more than 140 times since their diplomatic relationship was set up.
