They agreed that China, India and Russia, as countries with growing international influence, can make substantive positive contribution to global peace, security and stability.

"China, India and Russia have developed friendly and frequent cooperation on international and regional issues," said Chinese Foreign Minister Li Zhaoxing at a press conference after the meeting, "The trilateral cooperation will include cooperation in the regional organizations like Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) and in the United Nations."

China and Russia welcomed India to join the SCO as an observer country, according to the Joint Communique.

Li said the trilateral cooperation among China, India and Russia will be open, inclusive, transparent and constructive.

The three countries also agreed on the considerable potential for their economic interaction in areas like energy, transport, infrastructure, health, high technologies including IT and biotechnology.

The ministers will advice their business bodies to organize a trilateral business forum within this year.

The three sides stressed the importance of reforms in the United Nations including the UN Security Council while China and Russia reiterated that they understand and support India to play a greater role in the United Nations.

The minister also talked about anti-terrorism issue, underlining the potential of working together against terrorism in regional organizations.

They stressed that terrorism should be combated in a consistent, sustained and comprehensive manner without any double standards.

The three countries agreed to coordinate action against any factor that feed international terrorism including its financing, illegal drug trafficking and trans-national organized crime, the Joint Communique said.

The next trilateral meeting among China, India and Russia will be held in China, according to the document.
