Chinese natural gas enters Indian market
font size

The Gas Authority of India (GAIL) recently announced it would cooperate with China Gas Limited on a joint venture company in which both parent companies will have 50 percent stake.

This is the first time that a Chinese company has invested in India's oil and gas industry. The new company has been tentatively named Sino-India Energy Sources Company and will be registered in Bermuda. GAIL said the new company will focus mainly on compressed natural gas, by supplying, for example, city gas networks in China or India.
