Macao graft-buster breaks jail corruption case

Macao's Commission Against Corruption (CAC) has detained five suspects for allegedly involvement in a prison graft case, local media reported Friday.

The Macao Post Daily quoted CAC sources as saying that one of the suspects, surnamed Chan, allegedly passed cash to prison in a bid to bribe the prison guards during the Chinese Lunar New Year.

The CAC also seized a number of prohibited items including mobile phones, soccer and horse-racing betting slips from the Macao Prison, according to the newspaper.
