Macao chief expresses support to newly appointed official

Edmund Ho Hau Wah, Chief Executive of the Macao Special Administrative Region (MSAR), expressed his support to the newly appointed Secretary for Transport and Public Works Lau Si Io here on Friday.

A press release issued by the Information Bureau quoted Ho as saying that he is grateful to China's central government for the latter's appointment of Lau.

Ho hailed the would-be secretary for his abundant administrative experience and high-profiled personal resume.

He expressed the trust on Lau, noting that Lau will fulfill his duty with loyalty, probity and quality.

Lau, 51, speaks Chinese, English and Portuguese and has been in public service since 1984.
