Macao visitor expenditure sees year-on-year rise in Q4

The per-capita spending of visitors to Macao stood at 1,670 patacas (208.75 U.S. dollars) in the fourth quarter, a year-on-year rise of 6 percent, according to official statistics issued Friday.

The figures released by the government-run Statistics and Census Service (SCS) showed that visitors from the Chinese mainland took the lead on the expenditure list in the quarter with 3,562 patacas (445.25 U.S. dollars).

The per-capita shopping spending rose by 6 percent year-on-year to 745 patacas (93.13 U.S. dollars) in the quarter, the figures showed.

Meanwhile, the per-capita non-shopping spending increased by 6 percent to 925 patacas (115.63 U.S. dollars) in the period, according to the statistics.
