State Councilor extends greetings to police officers on eve of festivalState Councilor Zhou Yongkang extends greetings to the country's police officers during his visit to police stations and sentries in the national capital on the eve of the Spring Festival. Zhou, also a member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and minister of public security, expressed his good wishes to the police officers and soldiers via media when meeting with police officers on night shifts in Beijing. After being briefed on the security measures during the Spring Festival in the command center of the Beijing police bureau, Zhou urged police officers to tighten security control during the seven-day national holiday so as to create a safe environment for people. Zhou also asked police officers to make new contributions to building a harmonious society in the coming year. At the invitation of police officers, Zhou spent the festival with police officers by making dumplings and small talks.
